| Vintage background, modern take's, clean line's & clean cut, I will be honest here and say that not all Our Legacy products are for me, some of it is a bit too thrifty vintage for my liking, but nevertheless each season produce some very nice piece's, some thing's are top notch, other's are just 'ok'. I like how they keep within their own guidelines in colour and tones but cant help wanting a bit more variation, you cant really go wrong with blue brown beige red & white but sometimes they could do with going out of those boundaries and pick off a stand alone piece, but apart from that you cant deny the quality style & craftsmanship that is in the swedish outfit. At it's peak with the vintage laid back effortless look I am hoping it keeps going in the right direction of progression rather than when everyone has stopped wearing chinos shoes & shirts it kind of comes to a full stop, there are only so many red plaid check shirts you can produce before it gets stale & dated so was pleasantly suprised looking through spring/summers 2011 photos from them, heavily influenced by denim (as they always have been) the collection looks a bit more current than past collections in my humble opinion, labels like this can often go 1 of 2 ways, sometimes they split it and go for both directions and sometimes they go too far as I said before with the vintage feel and it looks old before its time, as I said earlier the quality cut & craftsmanship is undeniable so I am hoping they go through the current changes as seasons go by which it looks like they are doing, I'm only saying this because I am a modernist, I like clean cut lines, up to date changes and current twists, of all the labels I wear at the moment they all bring out pieces that could turn you into old man Giles if your not careful, Woolen Mills, Engineered Garm's, Margaret Howell, Oliver Spencer, Our Legacy & the like have this, they all release current modern crafted clothing and shoes and they also release classic clothing and there is a fine line between the two. Which takes us back to Our Legacy as they both say they create and release clothing that they want to wear and have for their own wardrobes for the coming season, with them both being 29 and 30 years of age it sounds like a label I can stick with for many years hopefully, I like the background and where they are from clothing wise, similar to another label close to my wallet in Albam, their from a small label producing modern crafted clothing that are always looking for new materials and different washing processes to give them the best results and fine looking garments that are easy to wear, I'll leave you with this a/w 2010 look's and ending on the spring/summer 2011 which caught my eye..... Moving onto Spring/Summer 2011 look book which I can appreciate a lot more.... | |
